Our Woofuses

Siberian husky with yellow bandana

FIONA  – We met Fiona first when she was just four weeks old. Her momma Sapphire had had a litter of five pups. Fiona was the littlest one and she chose me, walking over, crawling into my lap, and promptly falling asleep. We came back for her when she was eight week old and we’ve been together ever since. She loves to play with other dogs, has penetrating blue eyes and a very sweet disposition. She is an AKC Certified Canine Good Citizen and a certified Bright and Beautiful Therapy Dog. Her name means “the fair one” in Gaelic. She is the stabilizing force of the pack.

secret-dog-in-yardSECRET – We met Secret when she was two and a half years old. Fiona was lonely and needed a new friend to play with. They didn’t get along well at first but are now very good pals! They often cuddle up side by side or paw to paw. Secret still likes to pull Fiona’s tail, though – but what else is a bratty little sister dog to do to get attention?! Secret is a very sweet dog with deep, chocolate brown eyes. She does a happy twirling dance at every meal time. She loves to perch in our front window and watch the world go by. She worships her big brother Lobo and follows him everywhere. She is the “loki” or mischief maker of the pack – fun loving but somehow stirring up trouble!

white and golden husky with blue eyes in grassLOBO – Lobo is the newest addition to our pack. We think he is six years old. We took him in as a foster and after a few months realized we love him and his home was with us.  He’s a big boy with ice blue eyes and a mixture of golden and white fur that looks like sunshine. When he wags his tail it is a very big production – a wild swish that it’s a joy to see. He loves his sisters and his peeps. Sometimes he goes crazy like a puppy and goes scooting around the yard in a galumphing gallop (he has rather long legs – we call him the “imperial walker”). Lobo likes to think he is top dog, but Fiona’s quiet, take charge manner gives her the leadership role.

Huskies three in reposeTHE PACK – All three dogs have become a united pack. They have their differences but when they gather together in one corner of a large room, paws often touching, you know they love being together. Welcome to the world of our Woofuses!
